Friday
The best thing about a band that only writes songs about hockey is the pronouncements. We're the most popular sports-themed rock band in the world! We're the most downloaded hockey-rockers ever! But it takes more than empty proclamations to stay out of the penalty box as long as The Zambonis have. The power-pop group formed 10 years ago and is still around, playing the halftime show at the 2002 NHL All-Star game, teaming up with alt rock band Guster and contributing songs to hockey video games. They visit Playmakers House of Rock on Friday to play for a fundraiser benefiting the children's foundation started by Moorhead High School graduate and NHL player Matt Cullen. Show starts at 9 and costs $50. (701) 232-6767
