A groundbreaking ceremony is planned today at West Fargo City Hall.

A $1 million remodeling project is planned for the building at 800 4th Ave. E. to give city workers and police more room.

Construction already started on an addition to the Police Department. City offices will expand as soon as the library vacates an adjoining space.

The city office expansion should start by Aug. 1 and could finish by Oct. 15, Deputy City Auditor Sharon Schacher said. Police should be in expanded quarters by the first of the year, she said.

The library will move later this month to the Lodoen Center at 109 3rd St. S.
