WEST FARGO - A 34-year-old West Fargo man is in jail after police here received two calls about a suspicious male late Friday night.
Jeremy Bortle of West Fargo has been charged with burglary, interfering with officers, fleeing police on foot, possession of stolen property and several counts of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.
West Fargo Police received a call at 11:40 p.m. about a suspicious male carrying things back and forth to a teal-colored car in the 1300 block of River Street.
When officers arrived, the man ran north into nearby Elmwood Park. About 15-20 minutes later, a soaking-wet man matching the description of the original suspicious male emerged between the houses north of Elmwood Park.
He would not immediately comply with officers' directions but was eventually detained, police stated.

After not stating his name, the suspect was brought to jail for interfering with officers. He was visually identified by a jailer as Bortle. Upon further investigation, stolen property from several cars parked along River Street was found inside the teal-colored car, as well as a wallet containing an ID for Bortle.
The car was impounded and searched further. In it, police found a bank/debit card for the victim of a burglary officers had earlier responded to on Charleswood Estates Drive.
During that incident, an unknown male was going through two vehicles parked inside the garage.
