Wienermobile visits patients at Sanford

FARGO — Patients, visitors and doctors did a double take upon entering the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo on Saturday, Aug. 22.

That's because a giant hot dog, known as the Wienermobile, was parked out front. The iconic 27-foot-long weenie-on-wheels from Oscar Mayer has been spreading smiles across the U.S. since 1936.

One of the fleet's 6 vehicles went to Sanford that afternoon to cheer up patients. They were able to get stickers and have their picture taken with the giant hot dog -- or look out their windows and see the attraction if they were too sick to go outside.

The driver, or "hotdogger", Zach Chatham says while he's only been on the road almost two months -- he appreciates every opportunity to brighten someone's day.

If you want to see the Wienermobile in-person, you can check Oscar Mayer's website to see their schedule or request your own visit.
