MINOT, N.D. -- Willow City is celebrating its 125th anniversary and the town has invited residents from Willow City, Texas for the festivities.
The Minot Daily News reports that North Dakota's Willow City in Bottineau County is celebrating its anniversary from June 28 to July 1. Three couples from the Texas city are slated to make the 1,400-mile trip to North Dakota.
Willow City, N.D., was founded in 1887. That's the same year the Texas town of Willow changed its name to Willow City.
