West Fargo will celebrate its annual Winter Days today through Jan. 21.
Events kick off with a chili cook-off from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the West Fargo VFW. Judging is at 5:45 p.m. A frozen T-shirt contest and dance will follow.
One of the several new additions to this year's event is a two-part women's self-defense course. The course is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today and Jan. 20 in the Veterans Memorial community room.
Saturday features the 14th annual snow golf tournament from noon to 3 p.m. at North Elmwood Park. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 18. To reserve a tee time, call the park office at (701) 433-5360.

- Kids craft time, 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Veterans Memorial Arena.
- Free sleigh rides, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, South Elmwood Park.
- Stranger-Danger, a free program teaching children ages 3 to 14 about unwanted touches and various dangerous situations, 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Veterans Memorial Arena.
- Rock-n-Skate, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Veterans Memorial Arena; admission is a donation for the food pantry.
- Senior citizen free luncheon, noon Thursday in the Veterans Memorial Arena.
- Winter Style Makeover, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Veterans Memorial Arena meeting room.
- Jr. Detective Program for second- to fifth-graders, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Veterans Memorial Arena meeting room.
