EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. - A woman was found dead Wednesday in a field north of East Grand Forks and her vehicle was discovered in a ditch nearby, said the Polk County Sheriff's Department.
The sheriff's office received a report at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday of a female's body lying in a field in Grand Forks Township.
The victim's body was transported to the Ramsey County medical examiner's office for further investigation, the sheriff's office said in a news release.
The news release did not say whether it appeared that the woman was trying to walk for help. The temperature in East Grand Forks at 3 p.m. Wednesday was about 11 below zero.
