Women's March route shortened due to cold weather

FARGO — Saturday's women's march will have an extended rally and shorter march due to expected cold weather.

The 2019 Fargo-Moorhead Women's March is Saturday, Jan. 19 inside the Civic Center arena, 207 4th St. N. Pre-rally activities will begin at noon in the arena, including sign-making and community organization information sharing .

Heidi Heitkamp will be the keynote speaker at the rally, which begins at 1 p.m. Additional speakers will be announced later this week.

The march will start at 2:30 p.m. and will loop around eight blocks, beginning and ending at the Civic Center. Marchers will head west on 2nd Avenue North past the Radisson Hotel, then south on Broadway to North Pacific Avenue and finally, north on 4th Street North.

According to the Facebook event , more than 1,300 people are interested or going.

Saturday's high temperature is expected to be -6, with the low at -17, according to the WDAY weather team .
