A youth ice-fishing derby will be held from noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Woodhaven Pond, located at 44th Avenue South and 43rd Street, Fargo.
From noon to 1 p.m., there will be seminars to teach fishing strategies, conservation practices, how to use fishing tackle, augers and much more.
The fishing derby is for children ages 14 and under and will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. There will be a trophy presentation following the derby.
This event is free, and everyone is welcome to attend. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 50 participants. Free hotdogs and hot cocoa will be served while supplies last.
