MOORHEAD - A trial date has been set for Sept. 12 in Clay County District Court in the case of a Fargo police officer charged with domestic assault.
Jeremiah Ferris, 35, is accused in a court complaint of grabbing his girlfriend's neck and forcing her to the ground over a dispute involving her phone and suspicions of cheating.
The incident allegedly happened June 13 at Ferris' home in Moorhead.
Ferris has pleaded not guilty to three misdemeanor charges, including two counts of domestic assault and one count of disorderly conduct.
The Fargo Police Department placed Ferris on administrative leave pending the outcome of the case and an internal investigation. Deputy Chief Joe Anderson said Thursday, July 13, that Ferris remains on leave.
