FARGO-Downtown will gain a sweet new food option next spring.

Kilbourne Group announced Wednesday, Oct. 25, that Scoop N Dough Candy Co. will lease one of its alley retail bays in the second phase of new Roberts Commons, which is being built now to wrap around a new parking ramp that opened earlier this year.

Once done next year, Roberts Commons will have more than 13,000 square feet of retail space along Roberts Street, Second Avenue North and Roberts Alley and 72 apartments on upper floors.

Kilbourne Group said the new sweet shop gets the "scoop" in its name from the ice cream, malts, shakes and sundaes it will serve, while "dough" refers to its edible cookie dough flavors that will be offered. The business will also carry specialty popcorn and expects to add to its menu before opening.

Owner Josh Ulrich also plans to launch a Scoop N Dough Candy Co. food truck.

The new store is expected to open next spring. To keep up with progress or find out more, visit www.facebook.com/scoopndoughcandyco.
