Annella (Ann) Marquette

Annella (Ann) Marquette, age 83, of Moorhead, MN, passed away August 17th, 2021, at her home, surrounded by family and assisted by hospice. She rejoins her daughter Kim and parents in heaven for eternal celebration.

Annella Gay Gunstenson was born on March 17th, 1938 in Bethesda Hospital, Crookston, MN to Gunnuf & Bessie Gunstenson. Ann attended a one room school house in Highlanding, MN until the family moved to Thief River Falls, MN in 1947. She then attended Knox Elementary and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1956. Ann married Frank Marquette June 1st, 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls. They lived in Grand Forks, ND while Frank attended college. Frank’s career brought them to Eden Prairie, MN where they raised their children. They moved to the Fargo-Moorhead area in the late 1980’s.

Ann’s primary career was as a homemaker. She raised her children, and was very active in caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well. She was the best at getting them to sleep and cuddling. She was active in her church in Eden Prairie as a church secretary for 10 years, and served on the church board at her Fargo church. She enjoyed baking for and with her family, especially for holidays.

Ann is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Frank; her son Bruce (Lonnie) Marquette of Little Falls, MN; her grandchildren Sarah (Lucas) Rustad of Fargo, ND; Alisha (Chris Tuders) Stevens of Moorhead, MN; Kate (Mitch) Elliscu of Carver, MN; Franklin Marquette of Minneapolis, MN and Madison Marquette of Little Falls, MN; her great-grandchildren Reece Rustad, currently stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, TX; Paige Rustad of Fargo, ND, and Ashlyn & Ella Stevens of Moorhead, MN; her brother Gene (Joyce) Gunstenson of St. Charles, MO; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kim (62) last year, grandson-in-law Tony Stevens, her parents and other loved family and friends.

A celebration of life and interment of ashes will be held at a later date. A special thank you to Bethany and Ethos Hospice for their care in recent months.
