Bernadette Marjean Weiss, 86, Fargo passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Sanford Health, Fargo.

Bernadette was born October 8, 1933 Moorhead, MN to Edwin and Martha (Wambach) Simonson. She attended school in Oakmound, MN before moving to Fargo, ND where she attended St. Anthony’s School. She married Roger Weiss on November 8, 1954 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Fargo. Roger was light of Bernadette’s world and they both loved each other so much.

She loved to spend her time sewing, crocheting and baking. She had a sweet tooth and will always be remembered for her famous “root beer barrels.” She enjoyed trips to the Casino and spending time in the outdoors, especially at her lake cabin on Bejou Lake. Her grandchildren were very important to her and she always loved to tease them when every she could.

One of her greatest joys was finally getting her driver’s license at the age of 47. She was an unpretentious person. She had a laugh like no other it was both funny and annoying. She enjoyed shopping always keeping up with the current trends.Her beautiful calligraphy was admired by all.

She is survived by her husband, Roger, Fargo, ND; children, Rhonda (Steven) Jenson, Fargo, ND, Dawn Weiss, Linton, ND, Cory (Tammi) Weiss, Fargo, ND, Maria Barnes, Fargo, ND; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and brothers, James (Butch) Simonson, Fargo, ND, Bernard Simonson, Frazee, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Monica Morris; grandchildren, Christine Hellerud, Faith Barnes and 12 brothers and sisters.
