Brenda L. Egge

Brenda L. Egge, 65, of West Fargo, ND, passed away November 9, 2020.

Brenda was born in Bismarck, ND, to James and Darlene (Humann) Schatz on August 20, 1955. Brenda grew up on the family farm north of Linton, ND and graduated from Linton High School in 1973. In the spring of 1972, Brenda met Duane Egge. They were married December 28, 1974, at Peace Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND.

Genealogy became Brenda’s passion. They traveled through many states, searching through libraries, history centers, and court houses to find any history on Duane’s and her family. In 2016, Brenda published a book titled “Gottlieb Schatz Family History. In 2018, the German’s from Russia Heritage Society awarded Brenda first-place winner for the years GRHS Family History Book Competition, she was very proud of this accomplishment.

Brenda is survived by her husband: Duane; brothers: Bruce (Alice) Schatz of Linton, ND, and Steven Schatz of Milford, OH, niece: Carmen (Craig) Wald; nephew: Craig Schatz; three great-nieces: Jane, Natalie, and Clair Wald.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Brian Schatz and a great-nephew: Blake Wald.

A private family funeral is planned at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.

Burial will be in the Temvik Cemetery, Temvik, ND.
