Diane Hovater

Diane Hovater, age 81, of Fargo, ND, died on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2020, at Bethany on University, Fargo.

Diane Paula Christianson was born October 6, 1938, at Moorhead, MN, the daughter of Irvin and Katherine (Jenson) Christianson. She attended high school in Moorhead. Diane married Clement Cossette and they lived in Fargo, where three children were born to them, Deborah, Timothy, and Julie. Diane and Clem later divorced but remained friends their entire lives.

Diane married Clayton Hovater and one son Greg was born to them. Clay’s work caused them to live in many places around the US, but he was employed by Boeing in Seattle, WA when he died in 1987. Diane lived in Washington for another 10 years prior to moving back to West Fargo.

She is remembered as having a love for cats and dogs, enjoying watching TV and crocheting. She also loved her children and grandchildren.

Diane is survived by four children, Deb Perlenfein, West Fargo, Tim (Jennifer) Cossette, Kindred,  Julie (Daryl) Braun, Jamestown, and Greg Hovater, Jamestown; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and a sister Dawn in California.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clay, a son-in-law Allen Perlenfein, and her former husband Clem Cossette.

Private Family Services will be held at a later date.
