Earl York

Earl York, 92, of High Ridge, MO passed away January 24, 2021 and is survived by sons Ron (JoAnn), Jeff (Kathy) and daughter Cheryl. Also grandchildren, Christopher (Ashley), Eric (Kathy), Michael (Abby) & Trisha York, Cailey and Alexis Bracken and great grandchildren Harper, Isabella, Ava Ruby and Harlo. He is survived by one sister-in-law, Yasuko Walker and two nephews and a niece.

Earl was born in Fargo, ND on April 1, 1928 to Erick & Petra (Forness) York, the youngest of two boys. He graduated from Fargo Central in 1946, joined the Navy and served as a corpsman from 1946-48. He married Ruby June Walker in 1948 in Fargo. He graduated from North Dakota Agriculture College with a teaching degree and began teaching at Wolverton, MN. After getting his Masters in 1955 he was hired as Superintendent at Erie, ND. In 1958, they moved to Mapleton, ND where he was Superintendent for ten years. He made many long lasting friends in these communities. They resided in West Fargo from 1968-1973 and he was appointed ND Director of US Savings Bonds. In 1973, he moved to St Louis, MO as  Regional Director of US Savings Bonds where he won many National Awards and retired in 1992. He lost the love of his life, Ruby, in November 2017. He loved the Forness Reunions, St Louis Cardinals, playing cribbage, pinochle and taking his grandchildren to Grants Farm.

Well liked by everyone, bringing joy to all he met. A devoted husband, father and Grandpa now with his dear Ruby on a lake fishing and just enjoying one another. We love you and miss you both.
