Ethel Mae Henderson

Ethel Mae (Heglie) Henderson of St. Anthony, MN, passed away on February 16, 2021. Ethel was born on a farm near Walcott, ND on April 5, 1921, graduated from Pleasant Consolidated High School, and completed her education at St. Luke’s School of Nursing, becoming a registered nurse in June 1943.

Ethel married Daniel John Henderson on December 14, 1945 and they had four children, although their son Dennis died as an infant. Ethel worked as an RN at the Fargo Clinic, specializing in diabetic education. She continued to live in Fargo after Daniel’s death in 1988 until moving to the Minneapolis area to live with her daughter, Diane, in 1993.

Ethel is survived by her daughter Diane; son David (Kris) of Edina, MN; son Donald (Linda) of Brooklyn Park, MN; grandsons Brandon (Lindsay), Chris, and Ryan Henderson, granddaughters Melissa (Dan) Farrell and Erin and Megan Henderson, and great-grandchildren Bryce, Gwendolyn, and Aubrey. She was preceded in death by her parents Ole and Ida Heglie, husband Daniel, brother Aaron, sister Iola Moe, sister Ethel May, and her infant son, Dennis.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to First Lutheran Church, 1555 40th Ave NE, Columbia Heights, MN, 55421.
