Eunice “Molly” Plunkett

Euniice ”“Molly” Plunkett, 92, of Edina, MN passed away peacefully in her home on May 6th 2020. Molly, as her friends called her, was born in Stephen, Minnesota on Aug 22nd, 1927 to Torkel and Inga Koland. After high school she moved to California where she met the love of her life, Ken Plunkett, the two were married in Oakland, CA on October 22nd, 1946; from there the couple traveled around visiting family until they landed in Grand Forks, ND. It was there that Ken got his start in furniture, and in 1956 the couple moved to Moorhead, Minnesota and opened up Plunkett’s Furniture- the “Store of Tomorrow” . It was there that Molly raised their 4 children, Kenneth Jr, Judy, Lori, and Dan, all while being very active both, in the community as well as at Trinity Lutheran Church. Upon retirement Molly and Ken moved to Naples, FL where she fell in love with the beach, and after years of travel the couple eventually made their way back “home” to the Fargo/Moorhead area. After Ken’s passing Molly moved to be closer to family in Edina, Minnesota where she resided at The Waters. Molly is survived by her 4 children, Ken Plunkett, of Edina, Judy Plunkett, of Phoenix, AZ, Lori (Mike) Triemert, of St. Paul Park, and Dan (Camilla) Plunkett, of Bonita Springs, FL; her siblings Mary Hanson, of Goodyear, AZ, Judi Pinkerton, of Sartell. MN, Jack (Izzy) Koland, of Detriot Lakes. 9 grandchildren, Suzanne (Barry) Plunkett, Rachel (Carter) Cox , Christine (Jonathan) Lindop, Sara (Christopher) Griffin, Dan Triemert, Seth (Zoie) Plunkett, Page (Alvin) Lopez, Marcus Plunkett, Matthew Plunkett, and 5 great-grandchildren: Jackson, Ivy, Mckenzie, Tripp, & Penelope. Molly is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ken. Siblings, Tommy, Mickey, Norma, Donny, & Ted, and parents Torkel and Inga Koland. Due to the CDC recommendations and coronavirus there will be a small family service at Riverside Cemetery.
