Harold Voje

Harold C. Voje, age 89, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Bethany on University, Fargo.

Harold Curtis Voje was born June 15, 1931, in Norman County, MN, the son of G. Alfred and Anna (Sorenson) Voje. He grew up in the Lockhart and Gary, MN area, where he attended school, and later began working for his future father-in-law.

Harold entered the US Army June of 1952, and served in Korea until his Honorable discharge in April of 1954 with the rank of Sergeant.

Harold and Joanne Porter were united in marriage in May of 1954. They moved to Moorhead, MN, where they lived for several years. They later moved to Sioux Falls, SD, Minneapolis, MN, and moved back to Moorhead, all with his work. Harold was employed by International Harvester – Truck Division in Fargo. He started his career as a truck mechanic and retired as a service manager. Following his retirement, they moved to Cotton Lake near Rochert, MN, and spent winters in Mesa, AZ. In 2017, they moved to Edgewood Vista in Fargo.

Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joanne; four children: LuAnn (Doug) Buehre, West Fargo, Darlene (James) Lewis, Moorhead, Karen (Dale) Sieling, Pace, FL, and Kevin (Debbie Chenoweth) Voje, Mesa, AZ; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren ; one brother George Voje, Fargo; two sisters Marvella Epema, Detroit Lakes, MN, Audrey Anderson, Hillsboro, ND; and one aunt, Hannah Werpe, Ada, MN, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Celebration of Life: Open House, Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 2-4pm at M.B. Johnson Park, 3601 11th St N., Moorhead, MN.

Interment: Fargo National Cemetery, rural Harwood, ND, with full military honors on Monday June 14 at 10am. West Funeral Home & Life Tribute Center Westfuneralhome.com
