Harry Owen Fuglie
Harry Owen Fuglie was born to Melvin and Mamie Fuglie near Ulen, MN, on December 8, 1924. He graduated from Ulen High School in 1942 and enlisted in the US Navy in 1944. He served in the South Pacific on the USS Harris during World War II. He married Lorraine Swenson on April 12,1947 at Cormorant Lutheran Church, and they were married for 69 years. Lorraine passed away in 2017. Harry was manager of the Lake Park Community Coop for 42 years and was an active leader in the community of Lake Park. He had great memories of playing baseball for the Lake Park town team in the 1940’s-1950’s. Harry enjoyed traveling with Lorraine, fishing, hunting, all sports and spending summers at the lake, hosting countless guests. His fish fries were notorious. He spent hours pulling water skiers, and he instilled the love of fishing into his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was dedicated to his family and friends, always ready to share his humor and stories. He thought it was more fun going to his grandchildren’s winter activities than playing shuffleboard in warmer climate. Harry died at age 94 on Sunday, May 19, 2019. A service will be held at 11:30 on Monday, June 3, at Lake Park Lutheran Church with the visitation at 10:30. Harry is survived by 4 children, Ronald (Deborah) Fuglie, LeAnn (Jeffrey) Grabow, Lynn (Richard) Schram, and Lori (Thomas) Mayfield; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Kathryn Nelson and Janice Dokken; 2 sistersin-law; Marian Fuglie, Ardith Fuglie. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Ole, Ray, Earl, and Winton Fuglie. Online guestbook and video tribute at www.wrightfuneral.com
