Helen Noel Steffens
Helen Noel Steffens, 65, passed away peacefully on June 2nd 2021.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 26, 1955 to William Charles Steffens and Anne Francis Crosby. In 1965 as circumstances changed in Chicago, Felice Kelly and the late Dr. William A. Kelly brought Helen and her brother Bill and sister Kathryn to live in Fargo with the Kelly Family.
Helen graduated from Fargo South as well as Moorhead State. Her post graduate credentials include Music with an emphasis in voice as well as Spanish. She most recently completed a course in counseling.
Known as “Helen 12 Jobs” by some of her closest confidants, Helen worked many years with the migrant counsel. She brightened the days of many as a server at Holiday Inn. Her love of gardening found her holding positions at numerous greenhouses and floral shops. She had a jailhouse ministry and most recently taught D.U.I. classes for Drake Counseling.
She was a master gardener and lifelong member of St. Anthony’s church.
Survived by Felice Kelly, Anoka, MN; sisters Kathryn Mandler and son Sam, Olympia WA; Felicia Kelly, and daughter Meilani Anoka, MN; Brother Mike Kelly (Lori) and their children Rebecca and Michael of Fargo, ND; and niece Sarah Weisser of Fargo, ND.
Preceded in death by her parents; and William A. Kelly and Bill Steffens.
Mass of Christian burial: 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 10th at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church Fargo; visitation an hour prior. Interment: Holy Cross cemetery North Fargo. Service will be streamed on Boulger Funeral home website.
