James Robert Tandeski

James Robert Tandeski, son of Thomas and Margaret (Fix) Tandeski passed away on July 17, 2021 at the age of 81. He resided at Edgewood Vista – Glenn’s Place Memory Care Unit, Fargo, ND.

Jim was born in Maddock, ND where he lived on a rural farm with his parents. After graduating high school, Jim married Lorna (Johnson). They got married on April 8, 1961 and moved to Fargo, ND where they had 3 children.

Jim worked in the plumbing and heating business for 50 years. He worked at Northern Heating and Laney’s Plumbing and Heating, in which he became a partner in the 1980’s. In 1991, Jim and Lorna acquired The Bowler, which he owned up until his death.

Some of Jim’s special interests were hunting, fishing, four wheeling, waterskiing, snowmobiling, and puttering around and restoring mustangs and tractors. He truly enjoyed the special times with friends and family at his lake home, homestead in Christine, ND and The Bowler.

Jim enjoyed watching NASCAR and going to stockcar races. He especially enjoyed watching his son Robert and grandson James race as well as all the other drivers he got to know. He really looked forward to the Jamestown Stockcar Stampede every September. In the spring of 2010, Jim bought a place in Mesa, AZ where he spent his winters with his special friend, Brenda Henderson.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Cynthia (Ben) Eastley, of Bagley, MN, sons, Robert (Jolene) of Fargo, ND and Daniel (Norma) of Rock Valley, IA. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, James (Amanda), Alicia (Jason) Ryan (Ashley), Brent (Melissa) and Lorenzo, 6 great-grandchildren, Kasyn, Millie, Tayen, Amelia, Briella, and Garrett, sisters, Ruth McCloud, Maddock, ND and Marie Delizonna, San Jose, CA and brother, Thomas (Annette) of Maddock, ND, sister-in-law, Helen Johnson, West Fargo, ND, brother-in-law, Dennis (Judy) Johnson, Bismarck, ND and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife Lorna; sisters, Lena, Agnes, Loretta, Florence and Dorothy; brothers, Ignatius, Edward, Dennis, Frank, Michael, brother-in-law, Richard Johnson and his parents. Prayer Service: 7:00 P.M. Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Nativity Catholic Church, Fargo with visitation starting at 5:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 26, 2021 at Nativity Catholic Church, Fargo with visitation starting at 10:00 A.M.

Interment immediately following the Funeral Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery South, Fargo followed by a Celebration of Life Service at The Bowler, 2630 S. University Dr., Fargo.
