Kathleen Folger Christensen

Delia Kathleen (Folger) Christensen, 87, of Blaine, passed away on June 30, 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Born July 20, 1932 to Francis Virgil Folger and Frances Irene Ritteman in Fargo, Kathy was the youngest of six children. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1950, and wed David Jerome Christensen, a carpenter and stock car racer, on Feb. 18, 1951 in Moorhead, Minn. Kathy worked as an anesthetist aide for over 30 years at North Memorial Hospital. In retirement, Kathy and Dave parked their fifth wheeler on Otter Tail Lake and then Your Haven on Long Lake. She was most proud of her family. They remember her as feisty, industrious, frugal, and kind.

Despite succumbing to dementia due to strokes in her later years, Kathy never lost her sweet and gentle spirit. She passed along her strength and determination to her daughters and granddaughters.

Survived by sons Guy (Paulette) Christensen of East Bethel and Rande (Vickie) Christensen of Cambridge; daughters Julie (Dan) Bennett of Anoka, Coralyn Thurmer of Blaine and Kelly (Mike Swanson) Christensen of Roseville; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Frances Ellen Folger Felber of St. Paul; brother Dale Macqueen Folger of Texas; other relatives and friends. Preceded by husband David; daughter Renee Bonnette; brothers Francis “Bill” William Folger and Earl Keith Folger; sister Carolyn Ruth Folger Ward; and her parents.
