Koller, Carol Jean Marie
Carol Jean Marie Koller, 85, of Fair Oaks, formerly of Roseville and long time resident of Novato, California, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020. Jean was born to Carl and Hannah (Clauson) Venaas on October 5, 1934 in Valley City, North Dakota. She attended schools in Kathryn and Fingal, ND and graduated from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1956. Jean and Conrad Koller were married in 1956 in Fingal and later lived in Minnesota, Oregon, and California. Jean worked as a registered nurse/evening supervisor at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Rafael, CA for many years before retiring in 1994. Jean continued to occasionally work until 1998. Jean and Conrad enjoyed traveling which included spending many summers driving their RV to North Dakota and winters driving to Arizona to visit family and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by Conrad, her beloved husband of 56 years; father Carl Venaas; mother Hannah Venaas Schoeppach; and sister Karen Schoeppach.
Jean is survived by her son Jeff (DeAnna) Koller of Tennessee; son Scott (Lisa) Koller of California; daughter Marie (Jeff) Herbert of California; six grandchildren, Heidi (Matthew) Koller Rohe; Megan (James) Koller Thompson; Kathryn and Michael Koller; Jeremy (Mayci) Herbert; Nik Herbert; four great-grandchildren, Cael, Isla, Inga, and Ronan; brothers Jim (Janice) Venaas and Chuck (Diane) Venaas; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 on Thursday, January 30, 2020 preceding a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Roseville, California with Rosary prior to Mass. Burial will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery following the service and reception.
