Leona E. Boisjolie

Leona E. Boisjolie, 91 of Fargo passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Edgewood Assisted Living.

Leona was born April 15, 1929 in Hillsboro, North Dakota to Conrad and Clara (Fleischer) Griesbach. She was the youngest of 10 children and was raised on the family farm. She graduated from Bohnsack Township School in Traill County. She graduated from New York Hair Dressing Academy in Fargo and was a part owner of Fashion Beauty Shop.

She married David Boisjolie on January 16, 1953 and spent most of their life together in Fargo. David passed away January 11, 2015.

Leona was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Fargo. She enjoyed going camping with her family and fishing in Minnesota and Canada. She also loved to sew and quilt and was active in her bowling league. She like to play cards, especially bridge and enjoyed putting together puzzles at their lake on Big Cormorant Lake.

Leona was a caring, loving mom and grandma who was very resourceful and will be missed by those she leaves behind.

Leona is survived by her daughter: Debra Boisjolie, Eden Prairie, MN; sons: Craig (Ann) Boisjolie, Fargo, ND; Roger (Nelma) Boisjolie, Houston, TX, Grandchildren: Heather (Alex) Kerian +1; Haley (Devon) Wahl and David Boisjolie and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, David John Boisjolie, 6 brothers, Verner, Lloyd, Robert, Harold, Kenneth and George Griesbach and 3 sisters, Erna Borud, Esther Kellerman and her twin sister, Lorna Lawyer.

Due to COVID attendance restrictions, a private live streamed graveside service can be viewed on Boulger Funeral Home’s website starting at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 2, 2020.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to YWCA Shelter Fargo, 4 Luv of Dog Rescue, Fargo and/or Grace Lutheran Church, Fargo.
