Major Harold G. Baugh

Harold Gray Baugh, age 80, was promoted to glory after a brief battle with cancer on Tuesday December 4, 2018 attended by his loving wife.

Harold was born on March 11, 1938 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to parents James Marion and Rosalie Eleanor (Yetter) Baugh. He joined the US Army in 1958 serving 1 year in Korea before being stationed in Chicago, Ill where he met and married Ruby Aleene Williams in 1960. After his discharge from the Army, Harold worked for Western Union in Missouri, Michigan, and Illinois and over the next decade their family grew to include 5 children.

Harold's life was one of service to others. Whether it was to his country, his family or the community, he put the needs of others before his own and followed where God led. A man of deep religious faith, he and his wife felt the call to serve as Officers in The Salvation Army and in 1972 they returned to Chicago to attend the School for Officers Training. They were ordained in 1974 and over the next 40+ years faithfully served in The Salvation Army throughout the central and upper Midwest.

In his quiet moments, Harold most loved being a Grandpa and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the light of his life and he would do anything for them.

Harold is survived by his wife, Ruby Aleene (Williams), 5 children, daughter Deborah (Nelson) De La Vergne of Waukesha, WI, son Gary (Sandra) Baugh of Arlington, TX, son William Baugh of Fargo, ND, daughter Catherine Baugh of Minneapolis MN, son Donald (Shannon) Baugh of Fargo, ND, 7 grandchildren, Leah Rumsey, Joy McEachern, Crystal Baugh, Joanna Baugh, Andrew Franks, Megan Baugh, Ian Baugh and 3 great grandchildren Micah Rumsey, Abigal Rumsey, Sadie McEachern.

Visitation from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Boulger Funeral Home with visitation one hour before the funeral. A reception will be held at The Salvation Army in Fargo, ND after the service on Saturday. All are welcome to attend.
