Margaret A. Stene

Margaret Ann Stene, age 94, of Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 16, 2021.

Margaret was born in Crookston, on September 10, 1926, to Martin and Melva (Mickelson) Fiemann. She lived in Euclid, MN, until 1938 when her family moved to Moorhead. She graduated from Moorhead High School (1944) and Dakota Business College. She worked for the Fargo Forum and the Black Building. Margaret married Allen Stene and worked with him when he started his own accounting firm. She worked until the age of 90 for Kjos Investments and Comstock Land Company.

Margaret was active with Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead and was the first woman on the church council. She also served on the Eventide Board and did volunteer work with the St. Lukes Hospital Auxiliary.

Margaret enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Broadwater Beach, Pelican Lake. Margaret enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Family was very important to her and she enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Cheryl Keenan, Dave (Joan) Stene, Doug (Jane) Stene, Laurel (Mike) Olson, Nancy Stene; nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; her sister, Carol (Ron) Rydell; her sister-in-law, Betty Fiemann and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Ken Fiemann; sister, Joan Wilson, and granddaughter, Josephine Mary.

A family service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM. The service will be live streamed on Margaret’s page at www.wrightfuneral.com where you can also find an online guestbook and video tribute.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.

Memorials are preferred to the Trinity Lutheran Church Foundation and Hospice Of The Red River Valley.
