Marlys Mae (Molly) Cuypers

September 6, 1933 – April 29, 2020 Age 86 passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 29th, 2020 in the presence of family and many loved ones in spirit. She was taken care of lovingly by her daughter Susan Borchert after two strokes until her death.

Molly was born Marlys Mae Roscoe in Stutsman County, North Dakota on September 6, 1933. She was the eighth of nine children of Lewis Roscoe and Clara Bell (Millspaugh) Roscoe. She married Dale William Cuypers on June 30, 1951 where they farmed and raised a family in Dickey North Dakota.

Molly managed and ran the Dickey and Marion cafe for many years and will always be remembered for her wonderful cooking and her feisty personality. She was justifiably loved by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be missed by them and all who knew her.

She is survived by her children Greg Cuypers, Dickey, ND; Audrey (Bud) Matzke, Marion, ND; Susan Borchert, Maple Grove MN; Kevin Cuypers, Littleton CO; Tim (Sheila) Cuypers, Litchville, ND; Steve (Lori) Cuypers, Jamestown, ND; Ann Shockman, Lamoure, ND; Laura (John) Holzhaeuser, Maple Grove, MN, David Cuypers, Boyd, WI; and sister Judy (Sandy) Robertson, Joshua Tree, CA. Also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren and forty-three great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dale; daughter, Vera Jean; daughter-in-laws, Marie (Greg) & Dawna (Kevin); son-in-law Richard “Butch” Borchert (Susan); and siblings Raymond, Jim, Perry, Marilyn “Sis” Schlosser; Frances “Den” Ferguson; Walter “Bing”; and Robert.

A celebration of Molly’s life will be held in Dickey, North Dakota to be announced at a later date.
