Henry Schiele----99, Minot, formerly of Karlsruhe, ND and Velva, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva, ND.
Henry Anthony Schiele was born on March 23, 1920, a son of Ludvig and Katherine (Richter) Schiele in rural Fulda, ND. He was raised on the family farm north of Drake, ND and attended country schools.
Henry was united in marriage to Katherine Lauinger on May 22, 1945 in Karlsruhe, ND. Together they farmed near Balfour, ND, where they raised their children Donna, LaVern, Kenneth and Kathy. Katherine passed away on November 13, 1980.
Henry was later united in marriage to Lucille Bendickson. They made their home in Velva, where Henry continued to farm with his son Ken until 1990, when he retired.
He enjoyed woodworking, bowling and playing cards. He was active in his community and church. He served on numerous boards, including the Bergen Elevator, Odin Township, Karlsruhe School Board, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Harvey Eagles, and St. Cecilia Catholic Church. He was a hard working, honest man with a good sense of humor. Henry could always be counted on to assist his neighbors.

14 Step-grandchildren: Amy, Sara, Grace, William, Joshua, Jeremy, Samantha, Dylan, Terri, Taylor, Chelsea, Carter, Brianna, Adam; and 14 Great-step-grandchildren: Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Katherine, siblings Jerome, infant brother Nick, Cecelia Kramer and Anna Marie Mack, a step-daughter; Sheryl Bensema, step-daughter-in-law Janet Schuler.
