Beva Paulson

Beva Paulson passed peacefully at Sanford Hospice House on April 18, 2023, after being diagnosed and treated for a terminal bone marrow disorder. The Paulson family extends heartfelt thanks to the Hospice House team for taking such wonderful care of Beva and our family.
Beva Ree (Hill) Paulson (age 83) was born in Norris SD on May 16, 1939. Her family moved to Hot Springs SD in 1946, where Beva attended Hot Springs High School, graduating in 1957. She then attended South Dakota State, where she studied medical technology. During college, she met Guy Paulson, whom she married in 1960. After college graduation, the two moved to Madison WS where she also gave birth to two daughters (Kari, Kathy); and soon after, in 1967, the family moved to Fargo ND.
Being part of the Fargo community for 56 years, Beva enjoyed a rich family life, career and social life. She first worked at the VA hospital as a med tech, and then-following the earning of her MBA at NDSU-she transitioned to business-related roles at MeritCare and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Beva also loved hosting dinner parties, dancing, and playing bridge with friends, as well as participating in Bible studies and church activities. She taught Sunday school for many years at Hope Lutheran Church and volunteered at an area nursing home. She and Guy enjoyed travel and many winters in Arizona, where they spent time with additional friends and family. In addition, Beva stayed physically active throughout the decades, consistently walking 3-4 miles per day for most of her adult life.
Family and friends were most important to Beva, as well as her faith in God. She will be remembered as a woman of prayer and hospitality who cared very much for her family and so many others. She possessed an outstanding work ethic, taking on responsibilities with tireless determination, and she knew how to weather storms with faith, fortitude, and resilience. Survived by her husband Guy, her daughters Kari and Kathy, son-in-law Tom and grandchildren Amanda and Grace, as well as by many extended family and friends, Beva will be dearly missed-but always in our hearts.
Services are scheduled at Hope Lutheran Church in South Fargo on Tuesday, April 25 at 10 AM with visitation beginning at 9 AM (live streamed on the funeral home website for those unable to attend). A prayer service will also be held at Boulger Funeral Home the evening before, on Monday, April 24 at 7 PM with visitation from 6-8 PM. Burial will take place at the Fargo National Cemetery near Harwood, ND.
