Donald Larson, 91, Hannaford, ND, died Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Griggs County Care Center, Cooperstown, ND.

Donald John Larson was born April 14, 1931 to Louis and Ellen Larson of Hannaford, ND. He graduated from Hannaford High School in 1949 and attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, for 1 year before enlisting in the United States Army where he served from 1954 to 1956.

On January 17, 1955, he married Lois Ann Bjorke in Fjelstad Hall on the campus of Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. Following his 2 years of military service, they returned to Hannaford, ND, where they farmed and raised their family. He cared for the land as he did his family, with steadfast love, compassion, and faithfulness. Donald was a lifelong member of Faith Lutheran Church, served several years on the school board for the Hannaford Public School, Bartley Township Board, Griggs County Hospital Board, and was a league bowler at Stri-King Lanes in Hannaford for many years. When farming allowed, he loved traveling, visiting with friends and neighbors, and a good card game with his wife and grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Daniel (Marla) Larson; daughter Lu Andrea (Brian) Haugen, all of Hannaford, ND; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law; and 1 brother-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois, daughter, Lee Anna Leier, great-grandson John Greff, sister Dorothy Dale, brother Paul Larson, and 2 brothers-in-law.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND. Visitation will continue Friday, September 23, 2022 from 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm in the Faith Lutheran Church in Hannaford, ND. Interment will be in the Hannaford Cemetery, rural Hannaford, ND.
