Margrette “Marge” Brown

Margrette “Marge” Brown, 88, of West Fargo, ND, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at Elim Care Center in Fargo.

Marge was born on January 6, 1935, in Scribner, Nebraska to Edward and Johanna (Steinhoefel) Remm. She grew up and attended school in Scribner and also lived in Fremont, Nebraska. She married Larry Studt in 1951. Marge worked for Campbell’s soup while living in Nebraska. She later married George Brown on February 23, 1963. They lived in Bismarck before moving to Fargo in 1968. Marge was employed at Herberger’s in Fargo and then later did staining and varnishing for her son’s business, Quality Structures. George passed away on July 27, 2004.

Marge enjoyed sewing, gardening, water-color painting and playing cards. She was a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club and the Amenia Homemakers.

Those grateful for having shared in her life are her children: John (Karen) Studt (Horace, ND), Sherry (Bruce) Liljequist (Audubon, MN), Patsy Lyman (Marshfield, WI), Cindy (Brett) Brunelle Chabert (Panama City Beach, FL) and Margie (David) English (Wheatland, ND); 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rose Wendt (Kenesaw, NE).

Preceding her in death: husband, George; brothers, George and Edward Remm; sisters, Maryann Timmerman and Julia Blome. Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023, at West Funeral Home in West Fargo. Visitation 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home followed by a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Burial: Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery-South in Fargo in the spring.
