February 22, 1948 – January 16, 2022

Michael was born to Russell L. and Alvina H. (Larson) Williams at Trinity Hospital in Minot. ND.

He graduated from Minot Model High School in 1966 and enlisted in the Navy where he served a tour of duty as a medic in Viet Nam. Michael was honorably discharged from the Navy and returned to Minot for a few years before moving to Fargo to attend NDSU and launching his run as a lifelong Bison fan. Michael worked several jobs in Fargo over the years and married Betty J. (Foyen) in 1989. After her death in 2008, Michael moved to Champlin, MN to be near his two beloved grandsons, Joseph and Jacob Anderson. They shared a mutual adoration and he spoiled them with his time and unconditional love. While the boys were in school, Mike took to the kitchen and started baking banana bread and cookies that he would joyfully share with everyone he knew. In 2016 Mike moved to Dilworth to get back to his long-time friends who he missed so much.

He fought a tough 12 year battle with Parkinson’s that took his life on Jan 16, 2022 at St Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, AZ.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents Russell and Alvina; siblings Virginia L and David P Williams; and wife Betty.

He is survived by brother Gregory; sisters in law, Judy and Ginger Williams; step-daughters Karmen Anderson and Beth Ann Foyen; grandsons Joseph and Jacob Anderson, nieces and nephews Rachel, Vanessa, Sadie, Jake and Dennis Williams; grand nieces and nephews Fate, Quinten, Sebastian, Ava, Dareon, and Izel; and many other great friends and family scattered throughout North Dakota and Minnesota.
