Sandra Shelhammer (Truman)

March 21, 1946-

December 30, 2021Sandy graduated with the 1964 class of Fargo Central High School. She loved dragging Broadway in her new 1964 Ford Valiant convertible and would occasionally let her little sister tagalong. She had a huge crush at the time on the actor, singer James Darrin, who didn’t? I miss my sister! Sandy was a Christian with a heart of gold. She loved shopping, and a good bargain. She was always buying for family and friends. Sandy was an amazing decorator of her home in Canon City, CO and it was beautiful. She worked for Bell Telephone company in Fargo in the data department. After graduation she married Curt Klein and had her son Troy shortly after. They moved to Colorado in the 70’s where Sandy worked for Mountain Bell. She loved the movie Grease, and her favorite line was, “The rules are there ain’t no rules!” Sandy and her husband Rick whom she married in 1985  had just celebrated 36 years together and were going to meet me in Laughlin, NV  on January 2, for our usual two week get together. Before our meeting Sandy wanted to spend time with her son Troy and his family for Christmas. She became sick, and died from Covid complications. She was not vaccinated. I miss my sister! Our parents Ralph and Sybil Truman have passed away as has our brother Ralph (Buzz). Her sister Kay Lasha, and I are all that’s left from a family of six. Being the baby sister I needed to share my grief and sadness as well as honor a beautiful soul. I miss my sister! We are all grieving loved ones that have died from this insidious virus, and my Bible is filling up with family names way too fast. I miss my sister.  Jan McDougall
