Violet F. Beaton

Violet Florence “Vi” Beaton passed away at Eventide Senior Living Community, Fargo, ND on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Vi passed away peacefully and naturally at the age of 98.

Born May 23, 1924 in St. Paul, MN to Gaylord & Augusta Krueger. Violet was the oldest of 4 children and grew up in Casselton, ND where she met the love of her life, Wally. She married Wallace “Wally” Beaton on February 4, 1946. They built a wonderful family of 5 children, 4 sons and 1 daughter.

Vi’s passion in life was cooking. She saved and shared recipes for anything she found interesting and was always happy to see everyone enjoying her creations like her huge caramel rolls and chocolate bread pudding.

She had many hobbies over the years especially knitting and crocheting, gardening, traveling the country with Wally and Barbara, and the 4 boys when they were young.

Vi is survived by her sister Gayle (Rejean) Goudreau; her children: Perry (Carol), Barbara, Jay, and Dennis (Kim), and daughter-in-law Diane; Her grandchildren: Ryan (Angela), Kelly (Jenna), Brad, Jamie, Scott (Lana), Samantha, Nick, Joey, and Josh Beaton, Chelsey (Jeffery)Turnbull, Zach and Cole (Samantha) Beaton; her 15 great grandchildren: Aliya Larson, Ava, Tyler, Charlie, Quinn, Colby, Olivia, McKinley, Austin Beaton, Alex and James McArthur, Stella and Clara Beaton, Ozzie and Oaklynn Turnbull.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaylord and Augusta Krueger, her brother Richard, sister Mary Ellen “Mitzi” Ausk, her husband, Wally, her son Robert and her great grandson Logan.

Memorials may be made to the Anne Carlsen Center non-profit organization. Visitation will be Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo. Celebration of Life will be Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND. Family will have a private burial at Holy Cross North Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
