Rosella “Rosie” Bellemare

Rosella “Rosie” Y Bellemare, 84, Fargo passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Ecumen Evergreens of Fargo.

Rosie was born July 17, 1935 in Clitherall, Minnesota to Ludwig and Clara (Moen) Johnson. She graduated high school in Fergus Falls in 1954. She married John Bellemare on June 4, 1966 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Wild Rice, ND. They lived on the family farm near St. Benedict’s for several years. John passed away on July 5, 2001.

She helped at St. Benedict’s for years, primarily helping prepare for the meals after funerals. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and getting outside whenever she could. Her grandchildren were very important to her and she will be missed by those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her children; Richard Bellemare, Horace, ND, Ronald (Lori) Bellemare, Moorhead, MN, James (Carrie) Bellemare, Fargo, ND, Cynthia Remmen, West Fargo, ND; 7 grandchildren, Kari Remmen, Ryan Remmen, Aron Bellemare, Jacob Bellemare, Brenna Bellemare, Casey Bellemare and Bree Bellemare; sister, Helen (Charles) Tollerud, Bismarck, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ludwig and Clara; husband, John; siblings, Truman Johnson, Mayme Heiden, Ernie Johnson, Ruby Sharp, Albert Johnson, Louvella Johnson, Joe Johnson and John Johnson.

A service will be planned at a later date at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Wild Rice, ND.
