Theodore Vigesaa

<p>Theodore Bronson Vigesaa, age 91, resident of Cooperstown, ND passed away Monday, September 23, 2019 at the Griggs County Care Center in Cooperstown, ND. </p> <p>Ted was born May 8, 1928 to Lawrence and Constance (Watne) Vigesaa in Cooperstown, ND. He attended country school, graduating Cooperstown High School in 1947. He worked on the family farm in Sverdrup Township until being inducted into the United States Army in 1950. He served in the Korean War. He married Agnes Teigland on May 7, 1952 in Fargo, ND. They moved to Denver, CO where Ted worked for an electrical contractor. In 1953, they moved to Fargo, ND where Ted established Ted’s Painting & Decorating where he worked closely with Asp Construction. In 1960, they moved to Cooperstown, ND and Ted went into partnership with his cousin Gene Wuflestad and opened V-W Motors, a Chrysler-Plymouth-Rambler dealership. Ted and his family owned and operated the dealership for 59 years. Simultaneously he operated Ted’s Aircraft Sales. He bought & sold airplanes throughout the United States and had a particular passion for the V35 Bonanza. He served as Griggs County Commissioner, board member of Griggs County Hospital Foundation and Lutheran Brethren Board of Homes. He was a member of the VFW Post #3379 and the Gordon Lindgren Post #143. Ted was faithful in his devotion and actively involved in the Zion Lutheran Church. </p> <p>Ted is survived by his sons Don (Cheryl) and Jeff (LaRae) both of Cooperstown, ND; his daughter Brenda (Willie) Koosmann of Boise, ID; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brothers George (Muriel), David (Janice), Larry (Delores) and Peter (Lynne); sister Carolyn (David) Lunde. </p> <p>Ted was preceded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter Allison Vigesaa and great-granddaughter Sophia Gronneberg. </p> <p>Funeral services for Ted will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Cooperstown, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, September 27, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm in the Zion Lutheran Church, Cooperstown, ND. Interment will be in the Westley Cemetery, rural Cooperstown, ND. Military honors provided by the Gordon Lindgren Post #143 and the North Dakota Military Honors Team. Memorials preferred to the Cooperstown Medical Center Foundation or the Cooperstown Community Foundation. Arrangements with the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel. </p>
