Wallace “Wally” M. Nelson, age 97 of West Fargo, ND, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021at Bethany on University, Fargo, ND.

Wallace “Wally” Milton Nelson was born on November 16, 1923 in Oakland, CA, the son of Elmer J. and Irene (Skarda) Nelson. He grew up in Harlem, MT and graduated from Harlem High School. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He moved to East Grand Forks, MN in 1947 where he worked for Eddy’s Bakery for 35 years. He then worked for Black’s Bakery, Haliburten and Butler Machinery. In 1954 he was united in marriage to Christine Czapiewski. Wallace moved to West Fargo, ND in 2008 and resided there until the time of his death. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion. Wallace was a strong, yet gentle, kind, caring and honest man. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his family and friends.

Family members who survive Wallace include his children, Sherry (Art) Anderson, Kathy (Wayne) Kendle, Jeff (Cheryl) Nelson, Larry Nelson, Lisa (Peter) Waller and Merri Kramer; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer J. and Irene Nelson; son, Bobby Nelson; grandchild Jessica Nelson and sister Bette Braden.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM on Friday, May 7, 2021 in Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN.

Visitation: One Hour Prior Funeral Service on Friday in Dahl Funeral Home.
