FARGO — Kids will be welcomed back to TNT Kids Fitness & Gymnastics beginning July 6 for summer classes through a plan staff members have been putting together since the facility was ordered to close back in March.
TNT Chief Operations Officer Ryan Williams said staff members evaluated which programs could be offered at TNT, those that would be virtual as well as ones that could not be adapted safely through the ND Smart Restart plan.
"When Governor (Doug) Burgum allowed the executive order that originally ordered gyms like TNT to close to expire, we put our plan into action," Williams said in an email. "We started with a soft opening by allowing our USA upper-level gymnasts to come back onsite in May, and we’ve continued to learn how to teach safely while maximizing our facility."
Those early efforts allowed staff to make the decision to re-open on July 6 with safety measures that include sanitizing hands and temperature checks upon entry. Non-essential furniture has been removed and cubby use is limited, and classes have been reduced to reduce equipment overlap. Williams also said time between classes has been increased to allow coaches (who will be wearing masks and practicing social distancing when possible) adequate time to sanitize equipment.
Almost all classes could be adapted to the restart standards, except Preschool Open Gyms and Baby Gymnastics, Williams said.
