FARGO — For kids hoping to add a few more items to their stash of new toys and games from the holiday season, the Fargo Public Library is hosting a free winter read-a-thon for kids of all ages. Registration for the event begins today.

Participants will need to use READsquared, an online service where readers will log the time they spend reading to earn free prizes for their efforts.

The winter reading program is free to use, and participants can register any time until Feb. 28.

Paper book logs are available at all Fargo library locations, but patrons can use the online format. All locations also offer no-contact curbside pickup while buildings remain closed due to the pandemic.

The library is also offering an adult winter reading program as well.
