I agree with a portion of the Oct. 12 Forum editorial that the city of Fargo should guarantee Fargo Public Library funding in the regular budget process. However, this is not likely to occur in the near future.
The downtown library needs a better facility and adequate parking now. South Fargo needs a larger library, and north Fargo needs a storefront library now.
Passage of the proposed Home Rule Charter Amendment for a half-cent sales tax for 18 months can bring about all these improvements.
Vote yes on the Fargo Library sales tax.
