Valley City, N.D.
It turns out that Cheryl Bergian is actually the Public Service Commission candidate who is "the perfect fit."
Yes, both candidates possess solid (although certainly not identical) educational and experiential credentials as relates to the topics the PSC must handle. But the PSC's mandate is "protecting the public interest," and Bergian's opponent is sorely lacking in the most important strength a commissioner must possess: a proven record of principle-based advocacy for the people.
Bergian's lifelong dedication to making life better for "the little guy" is outstanding - and well known. Her opponent has demonstrated no such commitment.
Bergian has much valuable experience as an attorney in administrative law, the legal forum of the PSC. So she comes well-prepared to make good on her pledge to push the PSC to more aggressively protect the public's interest in regulating the monopolies that exist in our state - especially the utilities and railroad companies.

Bergian brings not only her proven devotion as an advocate for people in North Dakota, but also the specific legal skills and experience needed to navigate the critical interplay of jurisdictions that the PSC constantly faces in dealing with federal agencies and other state agencies.
That makes a vote for Bergian a vote for defending and improving the quality of life for all of us.
