I would like to respond to Ross Nelson's article in the Sept. 22 edition of The Forum. I am totally on his side.
The West Fargo Police have been known to follow or "harass" strange-looking vehicles. I myself have been followed around the city of West Fargo while doing nothing wrong.
I feel that just because you might have a run-down car doesn't mean that they should automatically suspect anything. Most high school kids can't afford nice looking cars unless, like me, they work almost every day after school and every day on the weekends. I don't think the police should have the right to follow a car just because of its appearance.
If they are speeding or swerving in and out of the lanes then they have probable cause. Otherwise I don't think you should be discriminated against just for the type of vehicle you drive.
