I just saw Rep. Earl Pomeroy's, D-N.D., new campaign commercial with his mom. I usually tune most of these things out, but I guess I never realized Pomeroy's background.
The ad pretty much talks about the importance of Social Security to the congressman and why he has been such a leader on the issue. His dad died when he was a young man and Social Security kept the family going.
Now I understand why Pomeroy was fighting so hard to defend his record. I applaud Pomeroy for his efforts on working to save Social Security and I applaud him for raising the tone of this campaign.
