I was recently able to attend a women’s conference in Fargo called Fresh Grounded Faith. It was a conference that had been in the works for well over a year. Many great leaders from around our region worked hard to involve over 20 different churches and 150 volunteers with 21 different teams to bring Jennifer Rothschild, Sheila Walsh and worship leader Michael O’Brien to Fargo. Approximately 1,000 women from the area attended the event. It was a joyful time in worship, prayer and fellowship with fellow followers of Jesus. Compassion International was a part of the event, and over 53 children were sponsored. It was a time of learning, laughing, crying, healing, growing and sharing. So many beautiful things came from the event and lives were changed for the better. It will be fun to watch the amazing impact that this event will have on our region for years to come as ripples turn into waves.

I then was blessed to participate in the National Day of Prayer summit in Minneapolis. It was a time for all the state directors and leaders of National Day of Prayer to gather in fellowship, pray, worship and learn. We heard from various coalition partners about their plans for the upcoming year. It was so inspiring to see everyone coming together in unity and direction. It's very important message that we need today. I am inspired for the next year to see the move of God in our nation.

The new theme for the National Day of Prayer for 2020 was revealed. We are very excited to see how God moves with the theme “Pray God‘s Glory Across the Earth.” We will be using Habakkuk 2:14 “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” Various other organizations were present at the summit, sharing their vision for prayer, revival and unity across our nation and the world.

The promise of unity is an important message today at every level, from our families, communities, regions and certainly across our nation and the world. The simple act of coming together to pray for unity is powerful.

Two amazing events, back to back, revealed our nation’s foundation of faith and the breadth of believers here in Fargo and across the nation. It is easy to get discouraged by the discord we see every day in the news and by the messages sent by the entertainment industry. But I came away from these two events encouraged and strengthened. Search out opportunities for involvement and be strengthened.
