The Forum recently had a story about the colleges wanting the bars to stop happy hour and other drink specials to help with college student partying and binge drinking.
Why should the working class, which enjoys that little perk after a hard day's work, lose that pleasure?
These students say that they are adults and want to be treated like an adult and belly up to the bar and pound down those beers. Then become the adult you are and take responsibility for whatever your actions may be.
As for this power hour when they turn 21 at midnight. I've always considered the business day ends when it closes at night, not by the clock. I don't see where that seems to be a problem.
And if these students are going to drink and be stupid, they will get the alcohol no matter how hard we try to stop them. They just need to realize what the consequences will bring to them.
