Dave Taylor letter: Letter on women's dress was appalling

In response to Pam Hlady's letter on July 19 "Solution is different focus from society":

I am appalled and offended by her statements indicating sex offenders are created by the way females dress and availability of sexual materials. She states that 50 years ago sex offenders were "few and far between ... because society supported marriage." She goes on to say "A man's nature is to be aroused by sight."

As a guy I have a hard time arguing that one but she continued "And then we women bombard him with clothing styles ... and we bombard him with readily accessed pornography ... we can't expect him to exercise self-control." Bombardment or not, yes, you can expect him to exercise self-control.

The increase, I believe, in sex offenders (or any criminal act) is due to a lack of teaching right from wrong at home. Spoiling kids and giving in when they want something and whine for it reinforces negative behavior. Teach your kids right from wrong, if you know the difference yourself.
