David Heinrich letter: Republicans take a shot at farmers

Republicans in the North Dakota Legislature have shown where they stand with regard to family farmers. Their approval of HB1330 which makes it easier and faster to foreclose on family farmers is an outrage.

Failed Republican farm policy put enormous financial stress on family farmers and ran many of them out of business. For those few who have managed to hang on, Republican legislators now want to hurry the foreclosure process along. If they don't go easy, Republicans want to move them out of the family farming business more quickly.

In the House, Republicans also defeated a resolution encouraging more U.S. -- and North Dakota -- farm product sales to Cuba.

Any farmer who votes for Republicans in the next election ought to have their head examined.
