I read with interest Fargo City Commissioner John Cosgriff's comments in the Monday, Sept. 5, edition of The Forum about the upcoming city commissioner election on Tuesday, Sept. 13. According to Commissioner Cosgriff, Fargo city government became more political with the election of Thomas Lane.
I would like to remind readers Lane ultimately sided with Mayor Bruce Furness and Cosgriff in the CityScapes Renaissance Center debate.
Further, I would remind readers that Brad Wimmer (during a televised debate with Commissioner Mike Williams) called the CityScapes vote a "no brainer." That's quite an insult to the 71 percent of Fargo voters who didn't bow to Wimmer's dictate. In short, Wimmer's actions and statements with respect to the CityScapes vote beg a fundamental question: How well will he represent all the citizens of Fargo?
