A second downtown Fargo walking map will further enhance the attractions of the city’s historic core. The first map from the Downtown Community Partnership was a great piece of work. The updated map to be released in January promises to be better and more comprehensive, adding more than 50 shops, bars and galleries to 101 businesses featured on the first map.
Some 45,000 copies of the new map will be distributed to hotels, college campuses, Hector International Airport and state and regional tourism bureaus.
Fargo’s vibrant downtown continues to evolve as a destination not only for retailing and services but also for ambience, dining and entertainment. More and more people from Fargo and from outside the metro have discovered the unique attractions of downtown, and have spread the word. First timers to downtown can’t help but be impressed, especially if they remember what downtown was like a little more than a decade ago. The old and neglected downtown has been relegated to the history books by a revitalization program that has been wildly successful – even more successful than early expectations.
The partnership, with help from the Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitor’s Bureau – continues to enhance the downtown experience with the new downtown walking map. Good work.
